What the DKIM inspector checks

  • Selector search

No selector? We test common ones like google, selector1 and default at the same time.

  • Key strength

We decode the public key and report its real length. 2048 bits is the safe choice today.

  • Problems flagged

Weak keys, test mode and revoked keys are called out so you can fix them.

DKIM questions

Straight answers about your results.

What is DKIM?

DKIM adds a digital signature to the email you send. Receiving servers use the public key in your DNS to confirm the message wasn’t changed and really came from you.

What is a DKIM selector?

A selector is the name that points to one DKIM key, like google or selector1. It lets one domain use a different key for each service that sends its mail.

How long should my DKIM key be?

Use 2048 bits. 1024-bit keys still work, but they’re weak by today’s standards.

Is the DKIM inspector free?

Yes. It’s free and there’s nothing to sign up for.
