What Is Elementor?

Elementor is a page builder that uses a drag and drop system to build custom layouts for WordPress. This word press plugin allows you to create your dream pages with the help of a visual editor. You can easily build dynamic pages for your website quickly with Elementor.

This is a free plugin that you can download on your WordPress site. If you’re looking to start building the website of your dreams but don’t have any coding experience, Elementor can bring your ideas to life!

How to Use Elementor on WordPress

By using Elementor on your WordPress site, you can take your dream website and turn it into a design reality. With the help of live editing, you can easily review each element of your layout as you’re designing it. Here’s how to use Elementor:

1. Accessing Elementor

With the ease of use that Elementor designed for its users, you can have a complete understanding of the basis of Elementor within just a couple of minutes.

To access Elementor, look at the left side of your dashboard on WordPress. Click on the Elementor tab to create a new post or page.

Now that you’re in the Elementor plugin, you can access the drag and drop features that are located on the left side of the editor.

If you’re interested in searching for specific widgets for you to begin customizing your page with, you can search for them in the top right-hand search bar.

You also can choose from basic elements such as an image gallery or a heading. For more advanced features, you can also search for testimonial carousels and animated headlines.

By accessing the style and settings configuration on the Elementor menu, you can choose default colors and fonts to use across all of your webpages. Elementor also provides you with the ability to configure global settings across your entire site while making sure that your site is optimized.

2. Creating Your First Custom WordPress Layout

When you go to create your first custom page out with Elementor, you need to create a new page on your WordPress site. When you’re on the new page, you may notice an “Edit with Elementor” button that wasn’t there before you installed Elementor.

Clicking on this Elementor button will launch the user interface for this WordPress plugin, which will allow you to edit your work on the drag and drop page builder.

This will allow you to add sections onto your page or completely start building your page from scratch.

If you’re looking to get a page set up quickly, you can add a template. The template selection from Elementor has a large selection of templates that were professionally designed.

After accessing the template selection and deciding on the template that you want for your word press page, you can start editing the template. Select the template click on the insert button, and that’ll add the template to your WordPress page.

You can edit any part of the template to match your WordPress site’s unique needs. All you have to do is point and click on any element that you want to adjust. Elementor will have the settings for you to adjust to the left-hand column.

3. Elementor Layouts

The Elementor program includes widgets, columns, and sections. You can think of the sections on Elementor like a block or a row that you place on your website.

Each section on the page can have several columns, and each column can have its own unique content, color, and style. There isn’t a limit on what you can add to your sections and columns by using Elementor widgets.

You can add text, images, image galleries, videos, maps, icons, headings, carousels, and sliders into your columns or sections.

One of the most unique features of Elementor is that you can use the default WordPress widgets or any other WordPress widgets that other plugins (besides Elementor) have created. You can use these on your sections and columns with Elementor.

After you finish designing the page, make sure to click save on any changes that you’ve made. Keep in mind that saving layout won’t publish it to your WordPress page.
